20 BOKO HARAM SUSPECTS KILLED!!!
Nigeria’s army said Saturday it had launched an operation in the northern city of Maiduguri, the bastion of Islamist group Boko Haram, that led to the deaths of 20 suspected militants and two soldiers.
The soldiers Friday stormed a location where some Boko Haram men were found and “we exchanged fire with them and about 20 of them died in the crossfire. We also lost two of our soldiers while three were injured,” said army spokesman Lt Colonel Sagir Musa.
“We have also arrested 25 Boko Haram terrorists,” he added.
The operation took place several hours after Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan left Maiduguri, on his first visit to the restive city since his election in 2011.
Maiduguri has been the epicentre of an Islamist insurgency that has left hundreds of people dead and Jonathan on Friday defended the deployment of soldiers to the region.
Human Rights Watch said in a report released last year Nigeria’s security forces may have committed crimes against humanity during operations aimed at crushing the insurgency.
The military has been accused of firing on unarmed civilians and razing neighbourhoods following suspected Islamist attacks, while Maiduguri residents also face roadblocks and rolling curfews in several areas.
“We always tell the soldiers to conduct themselves” professionally, Jonathan said.
Violence linked to Boko Haram’s insurgency in northern and central Nigeria has left some 3,000 people dead since 2009, including killings by the security forces.
Boko Haram has said it is fighting to create an Islamic state in the predominately Muslim north of Africa’s most populous country.
SULTAN UNDER FIRE!!
The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, may have made the call in good faith. But he is literally under attack for making it.
Some Christian leaders rose up in arms against the leader of the Muslim community in Nigeria, at the weekend, for his call for amnesty for members of the Islamist group, Boko Haram, terrorising some northern states.
Catholic Church said it was amazing that a man in an exalted office as the Sultan’s could make such a call.
Niger Delta Christian Leaders Forum (NDCLF) said it was improper to call for amnesty for “terrorists”.
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the 19 northern states took sides with President Goodluck Jonathan who rejected Abubakar’s call.
The Sultan made the call for amnesty for the Boko Haram members at a meeting of Ja’amatu Nasril Islam (JNI) in Kaduna on Thursday.
It was his solution to the insurgency in the North. But President Goodluck Jonathan, in a riposte, said the proposal was impossible as there were no clear leaders of the group to discuss amnesty with.
Spokesman for CAN in the 19 northern states, Elder Sunday Oibe, told Sunday Vanguard, yesterday, that the position of Christians on the Sultan’s call for amnesty was clear, adding that the body would rather address the call for the removal of JTF from the North East.

According to him, the Borno elders are failed politicians “seeking relevance through an amnesty agenda which is why they are clamouring for funds to rehabilitate themselves”.
Oibe continued: “They are not realistic. We know that the Shehu of Borno is not associated with such calls. He is a gentlemen who will do anything to ensure peace in his domain, but those politicians who have been parading themselves as elders of Borno will stop at nothing to make themselves relevant”.
PFN Chairman for Borno State, Pastor Haruna Maidoki, who also spoke to Sunday Vanguard, yesterday, lamented that because of the security situation in the North East, most residents were denied the opportunity of welcoming Jonathan when he visited the region last week.
He backed the president on his opposition to the call by the Sultan for amnesty for Boko Haram insurgents.
”We are very happy that the president demonstrated the needed political will and spoke to them the way he did,” Maidoki said, adding that the Christian community in that axis was now reassured that it is part of the nation called Nigeria.
He said the people calling for amnesty for Boko Haram members or the removal of JTF could not be said to be realistic because none of them made mention of the plight of the Christians who had been the victims of the violent clashes in the region.
”They have not spoken one word about the plight of the Christians killed and their churches that were burnt or vandalised”, he stated, adding that they were not realistic and should ignored totally.
NDCLF listed several points why Jonathan must ignore the Boko Haram amnesty call.

BOMBS, AK47 RIFLESFOUND IN POLITICIAN'S HOME
The Nigerian Army said, yesterday, it has uncovered an armoury with a large cache of arms in a Kaduna home allegedly belonging to an Abuja-based politician, Hon. Hussaini Dei Dei.
This came as the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Alex Badeh, said yesterday in Ilorin that nobody was safe in the country and called for proactive measures among states of the federation to curb the situation.
The arms were discovered following an operation carried out by 1 Division, Nigerian Army in the house located at Sabon Birni Road, Kawo in Kaduna North Local Government Area of Kaduna State, following a tip off.
The building is located few metres from the 1 Division Army Headquarters.
Brigadier-General Tagbo Chuks Ude, Commander, One Division, Internal Security Force, who briefed newsmen on the development said: “Our discovery followed a cordon and search operation carried out in the area by troops at about 5.30 pm, Tuesday. The building, housing the bomb making factory, will be demolished in line with Army’s resolve to deter terrorists from their activities.
Items recovered:
During the operation, the following items were recovered: Six AK 47 rifles; one light machine gun; one tear gas launcher; 27 loaded and17 empty AK 47 magzines; one FN rifle magazine; five sub-machine gun magazines; four pistols magazines; one loaded light machine gun magazine; 275 rounds of 7.62 mm NATO ammunition; 765 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition; 58 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
“Other weapons recovered during the operation include, 125 pieces of detonator-33; two reels of detonating cords; nine small cans of prepared impoverished explosive devices, IED; one paint can of prepared IED; nine pieces of nine-volt batteries; three bags of white chemical substances; five pieces of remote control switches; one reel of firing cable and six pieces of assorted car number plates.
“The recovered dangerous weapons were buried inside soak away pits, and underground within the building. I want to commend the efforts of the well-meaning citizens that reported the matter and also to reiterate our resolve to fight terrorism in the country.
“I still want to appeal to the public to report any suspicious movement, establishment or persons in their environment as such information would be treated with absolute confidentiality.
“We arrested two men, two children and two women in the house. As a matter of fact, the explosive contents of this paint can bring down the whole of this headquarters,1Division Headquarters.
Ude said the house would be demolished as soon as it was cleared of all explosives.
He said: “Our normal process of demolishing the house is in progress. We are taking our time because we want to make sure that the general area is safe before we demolish it.”
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Badeh, who said nobody is safe in Nigeria, spoke during a courtesy visit on Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of KwaraState in Government House, Ilorin as part of his maiden familiarisation tour of Air Force formations in the state.
According to him,”from what we are witnessing in Nigeria today, nobody is safe in the country, and this is very sad. Everybody is worried. I think what we need to do is to take proactive measures. This is the only option we have to stop this trend.
2BABA AND WIFE GET SPECIAL WEDDING GIFT FROM GOVERNOR
Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State shocked guests at the traditional wedding of the Nigerian hip pop sensation on Friday when he announced a gift of two brand new Toyota Prado SUVs to the musician and his wife, Annie Macaulay.
At the event in Eket, Mr. Akpabio also announced that the state would bankroll an all-expense paid trip for 29 delegates from the state to attend the white wedding of the couple fixed for Dubai, the United Arab Emirate on March 23.
“On behalf of the government and good people of Akwa Ibom State, I have decided to donate two brand new Toyota SUVs to the couple,” the governor announced with glee. “Also 29 Akwa Ibom delegates will join the wedding which is billed to come up in Dubai.”
He also promised to rehabilitate the Eket-Ibeno Road ahead of the child dedication of Tuface and Annie.
Moments after the donations were made, some concerned indigenes of the state telephoned PREMIUM TIMES, saying the governor had taken his wasteful spending of the state’s meager resources too far.
“How do you explain this kind of situation where a governor donates cars to people who can afford it when majority of the people in his state can’t afford a meal a day?,” said one angry resident who requested anonymity for fear he might be attacked by the governor’s loyalists.
“This man treats the resources of the state like his personal estate, moving about with huge cash and dashing money to everyone as if the funds belong to him.”
The criticism of Governor Akpabio however did not however take the shine off the wedding which held at Apostolic High School, Esit Urua Community, along Eket-Ibeno Road.
The event was scheduled for noon but did not begin until 4p.m. A notorious late comer to events, Governor Akpabio, as usual, arrived the venue around 5:20 p.m. in the company of Senators Helen Esuene and Aloysius Etok.
When the two love birds got engaged on Valentine’s Day last year, many thought a star-studded wedding was in the offing. But they instead settled for a private civil marriage in Lagos, shortly after.
Tuface defended the decision back then, saying it was largely due to the deep respect he had for the feelings and emotions of the two major characters/lovers in his life – Sunmbo Ajaba and Pero Adeniyi.
The couple have now fixed a star-studded wedding and honeymoon for faraway, Dubai, United Arab Emirates on March 23.

17YRS OLD RAPED TO DEATH IN PRISON
Each week "Just Detention International" or JDI receives some 30 letters from prisoners who say they have been sexually assaulted in prisons across the United States. Over a quarter of those letters come from one state: Texas.
JDI has three core objectives for its work: To ensure government accountability for prisoner rape, to transform ill-informed public attitudes about sexual violence in detention and to promote access to resources for those who have survived this form of abuse.
Five of the 10 prisons with the highest rates of sexual abuse in the country are in Texas. That includes the first two, Estelle Unit and Clements Unit where Rodney Hulin, 17, was raped until he hanged himself.
In 1978 T.J. Parsell 17, was sentenced to four years imprisonment in an adult prison. Less than 24 hours after being jailed a group of inmates forced to drink Thorazine and raped him. Traumatized and terrorized TJ took years before he was able to testify about the brutal rape that stole his manhood, his identity, and killed his soul.
T.J. a graduate of the University of New York wrote: "A memoir of a boy in a man's prison" and created a movie based on his book.
A survey by the Bureau of Justice Statistics found that 4.5 percent of prisoners, nearly 1 in 20 had experienced some form of sexual abuse.
Torture is taking place inside the U.S. prison system which was discovered during a four-month investigation by Deborah Davies in a video showing how American prison inmates are receiving the same treatment as victims of Abu Ghuraib in Iraq.
More than 7.1 million Americans are in prison, on parole or under correctional supervision. Private prisons are one of the fastest growing businesses in the United States, as seen in the phenomenal growth of public enterprises, such as the GEO Group, G4S, and CCA all of which have established sexual harassment, torture and rape cases in privatized prisons.

POLICE NAB MUSHIN ROBBERY GANG LEADER
According to the police, Sanni, who has been arraigned in court and remanded in prison custody, has been on the run since 2009 after he allegedly led others now in prison custody to rob and kill four persons.
The suspect was arraigned before an Igbosere magistrate’s court on a 6-count charge of felony to wit, armed robbery, murder, terrorising victims and unlawful possession of firearms.
Investigation by the police revealed that the accused, who had been on the wanted list of the police for the past three years, was arrested for allegedly killing four persons and robbing others.
Some of the gang’s victims, the police said, included a 9-year girl identified as Lateef Aminat who was killed on 7 December, 2010; Shina Ajah, shot dead on 22 September, 2010, and Adedeji Adenuga who was killed on 22 February, 2009.
The police further stated that Sanni was mentioned as the leader of the Mushin robbery gang by Lukmon Lawal a.k.a. Oko and Monsuru Ibrahim a.k.a. Danglish, now in prison custody for the same offences.
They revealed this during their interrogation by the police after they were arrested last year with one AK-47 rifle, one pump action shot gun and one AK-47 live bullet.
The police prosecutor, Supol Jayeoba Oloruntoba said the offences committed by the accused contravened sections 6 (b) of the robbery and firearms (special provisions) act laws of the federation of Nigeria 2004, and sections 231, 221, 401 (2) of the criminal laws of Lagos State 2011.
The plea of the accused was not taken because the court lacks the jurisdiction to try the matter. The magistrate, Mrs. O.O.A. Fowowe ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody pending the advice from the office of the directorate of public prosecution, DPP, on the matter.
She adjourned the case for mention.
Sheep Gives Birth To Lamb With Human Features (Photo)
Residents were shocked after a sheep belonging to one of the residents bore a lamb with features that closely resembled those of a human being.
Speaking to the media, the sheep owner Rita Nabangala said she was equally shocked after the incident. Rita explained that this was the third time the sheep was giving birth but no such incident has ever been witnessed.
It is said that the sheep took a long time to deliver prompting villagers to come to its rescue only to deliver the unique creature contrary to everyone’s expectation.
She affiliated the occurrence to bestiality from evil people. It was noted that there had been increased cases of people sleeping with animals, an issue that the residents wanted the area chief to look into.
The lamb died after some time and was later buried.
SEVEN EXPLOSIONS ROCK BORNO AFTER PRESIDENTS VISIT
Seven loud explosions shook the city at about 6pm.
The explosions happened within minutes of each other, suggesting the kind of co-ordinated strike that used to be the hallmark of the Islamist sect, Boko Haram, before a military campaign weakened them.
There was no immediate report of any casualty.
The blasts were reported at Bumdum,Customs area and Gamboru parts of the city .
The sect remains the main security headache to the federal government
President Jonathan spent Thursday night in Maiduguri, the epicenter of the insurgency.
It was his first trip to the troubled area since assuming office.
The president had met with stakeholders in the state yesterday to discuss possible solutions to the crisis.
“I heard seven explosions successively. They were huge, but I have no way of knowing whether the explosions hurt anybody,” a Maiduguri resident, Usman Abubakar, said on the telephone.
At yesterday’s town hall meeting, President Jonathan urged the stakeholders to wheedle out the fundamentalists in their midst.
“Unless the elders of Borno condemn and fight Boko Haram, the people of the state shall continue to suffer from their attacks,” he added.

The pregnant woman can see an outline of her baby on her burgeoning belly. She discovered the print on her tummy when she was just 25-weeks pregnant and some colleagues at her hair salon were making jokes about her protruding belly button.
The British citizen explained to The Sun about her unique baby bump:
“I was in the staff room on a break. We were actually having a laugh at my belly button sticking out and checking for baby movement.
“Then Karen who owns the salon came in and said, ‘Oh my God, I can see a face.’ She took a picture and we’ve been showing it to folk ever since.”
Twenty-five year old McMartin, who already has a daughter Chloe, 2, with her husband David, added: “No one can believe how clear it is. You can see a nose, mouth and eyes — even the cheeks.”
Her boss Karen Monan, 45, who is the owner of the Kazmark salon in Irvine, Ayrshire, said: “Karen was lying back and I was having a feel of her bump.
“Then she lifted her head up and all of a sudden the shape of her tummy changed — and this face just appeared.”
What everyone is seeing is not actually the face of McMartin’s unborn child, but an illusion. The Sun spoke to medical expert Dr. Carol Cooper who explained that the “face” was actually a trick that was caused by her swollen belly button, an old bellybutton piercing, veins and stretch marks.
Illusion or not, it still makes for a pretty cool picture.
Another Student Killed As LASU Cult War Gets Messier
Although the deceased identified as Karim Abiodun, was reportedly not a student of LASU, but he was alleged to be a member of Buccaneer confraternity, whose members were said to be at war with members of the Eiye confraternity.
Report said the cultists stormed Karim’s home located on Afolabi street around PPL in Okokomaiko area at about 4a.m yesterday, from where he was chased to Peoples bus-stop around Ajagbandi and shot dead.
The late Karim, a second year student of Economic Education at the Lagos State College of Education, LACOED, would be the second person to be killed during reprisal attacks by warring cultists since the death of Damoche.
The first person shot dead, was identified simply as Kabiru. He was reportedly killed in the presence of his mother and siblings at their Abeokuta street home, also around PPL, Sunday night.
The Police as gathered, have arrested a member of a vigilante group in the area in connection with yesterday’s killing.
The suspect whose identity could not be immediately ascertained, reportedly admitted to have seen when the late Karim was being chased. He was also said to have identified one of the assailants .
Meantime, students of other institutions living around PPL have vacated their homes for fear of same fate befalling them.
Following the recent development, President of the Lagos State University Students’ Union, Comrade Ibrahim Agomeji, has advised students to vacate off-campus hostels within PPL, Iba, Casidi, Franklass and Igbo-elerin..
According to him: “This became imperative as the lives and properties of students are no longer secured in these off-campus hostels around the university.
It is beyond the powers of the university to provide you with security in your various off-campus hostels. Since the Police and the relevant authorities have failed to do this, I advise you return home to your parents, thereby coming to school from your various homes”, he said.

Two Infants Dead,Bodies Recovered.
The 3year old boys Toheeb Adedokun and Tajudeen Falilu had gone missing in January while playing in front of their compound when suddenly, no one saw them again.
When all efforts to locate them proved abortive, the missing children were suspected to have been kidnapped.
Well, guess what.
The corpses of the children have been found - in an abandoned vehicle, two houses away from their parents’ home on Taike Street.
The source said after the children wandered off, they went into the vehicle and were trapped inside, causing them to suffocate.
He said, “We had searched all over for the children to no avail and assumed they were kidnapped. Even the police thought it was kidnap. Only if we had known that the children were trapped in a vehicle in the next compound, we would have saved them.”
Reliable sources told PUNCH Metro that the vehicle was a Honda Pilot Sports Utility Vehicle which the owner had used as collateral and thus abandoned it.
The source said after the children wandered off, they went into the vehicle and were trapped inside, causing them to suffocate.
He said, “We had searched all over for the children to no avail and assumed they were kidnapped. Even the police thought it was kidnap. Only if we had known that the children were trapped in a vehicle in the next compound, we would have saved them.”
The spokesperson for the state police command, Ngozi Braide, confirmed the discovery to PUNCH Metro on the telephone.
Shocking News: Another Child Killed??
A suburban Philadelphia sixth-grader has died weeks after he suffered injuries in a fight at school, as authorities probe whether he may have been bullied.
Family members say Bailey O'Neill died after being taken off life support Sunday morning, a day after he turned 12.
He had suffered a concussion, a broken nose and other injuries during the encounter with another boy at Darby Township School, in suburban Philadelphia, on Jan. 10. He later began having seizures, and doctors induced a coma.
Bailey told his mother, Jina Risoldi, that he had been at recess when the boy, who was taller, challenged him to a fight.
Risoldi said last month that her son declined to fight, saying he was worried about being suspended. She said a boy then pushed him from behind and he was struck in the head about five times.
"This is not a fight between two boys," she said. "My son didn't fight back."
Risoldi said school security and a teacher rushed in to break it up.
Bailey spent the rest of the day at school, but over the following days he complained of severe headaches and dizziness, began sleeping a lot and became irritable and confused, his mother said.
"He had no problems before the fight," Risoldi said last month. "He was always extremely healthy, rarely got sick."
Bailey was an honor roll student who served on the student council, and he enjoyed baseball and swimming.
His mother said the other boy had challenged him to a fight earlier that week, and she had questions about whether the school did enough to prevent the encounter.
She said school officials were aware the boy had a history of bullying other children. She said the boy was suspended and subsequently returned to class.
MyFoxPhilly.com reports police and the Delaware County District Attorney's office are looking into whether Bailey had been bullied at school before the incident, but say they have no evidence of that so far.
The Associated Press reports District Attorney Jack Whelan told the Delaware County Daily Times that he was waiting for autopsy results and re-interviewing witnesses but considered charges to be likely.
Flags were flown at half-staff at the elementary school Bailey attended on Monday, as many remembered the boy as kind.
"He was always polite, the kindest little boy you would ever want to know," neighbor Joyce Neroni told MyFoxPhilly.com.
Police say they have re-interviewed half a dozen people in the case, from teachers to the other boy involved in the fight, and have examined school records.
The school district said in a statement on its website it is cooperating with local authorities.

Sultan's lawyer says she became addicted to painkillers in the years after her Internet windfall.
Even while living in splendor, she fell in with a group of drug dealers. Her fortune evaporated.
She was arrested last July and accused of trying to sell a handgun for $850. Then she was caught selling prescription drugs on Craigslist.
Sultan's lawyer says she is now sober, and hopes to become a holistic healer when released from jail.
Rape victim, 15, to get 100 lashes for having premarital sex
A 15-year-old girl in the Maldives who was allegedly raped by her stepfather was sentenced to 100 lashes for having premarital sex with a different man.
During an investigation into the alleged rape by her stepfather, the girl eventually told police that she had consensual sex with a second man, Encore reports.
Sex outside marriage is illegal in the Maldives, which operates under Islamic law.
Amnesty International said the punishment was "cruel, degrading and inhumane," while the Maldivian government didn’t agree with the sentencing and is considering changing the law, the BBC reports.
In addition to the rape, the girl’s stepfather is accused of killing and burying a baby conceived from it. He faces 25 years in prison if convicted.
Court officials say the girl will be lashed when she turns 18, and she was also placed under eight months of house arrest, Encore reports.

Doctors Remove Wrong Testicle: Local Man Sues!
A U.K. man plans to sue the Salisbury hospital that removed the wrong testicle during surgery to remove a cancerous one, metro.co.uk reported.
The man, whose name has not been identified for privacy reasons, is 48. The doctor realized his mistake about 40 minutes into the surgery – so he froze the healthy one and found a plastic surgeon.
However, the plastic surgeon was not able to reattach the healthy testicle.
Now, the patient is afraid he is infertile and will not be able to have the family he wants.
The man, from Wiltshire, said his attorney has taken the case into her hands.
Salisbury District Hospital admitted the incident happened, and that it has received notification of “pending legal action.”
Guinness Book Of Records Names Worlds Oldest Woman.
OSAKA, Japan -- A 114-year-old Japanese woman, the daughter of a kimono maker, was formally recognized Wednesday as the world's oldest woman.
Misao Okawa said Wednesday that she was "very happy" to receive the recognition and a certificate from Guinness World Records.
After a meal of her favorite mackerel sushi, Okawa nodded off as she sat in her wheelchair, her 3-month-old great grandson, Hibiki Okawa, at her side. But she woke up to speak to a reporter.
Asked for her secret for longevity, she said it was to "watch out for one's health."
The recognition by Guinness World Records was a nice gift for Okawa, who will mark her 115th birthday next week. According to the Gerontology Research Institute, which verifies age information for Guinness, she was born March 5, 1898.
Okawa lives in a nursing home in Osaka. The manager there, Tomohito Okada, said Okawa eats whatever she likes.
The world's oldest living person as recognized by Guinness - 115-year-old Jiroemon Kimura - also lives in Japan.
Japan has the most centenarians in the world, with more than 51,000, according to the government. More than 87 percent of them are women.
Okawa was married in 1919 to her husband Yukio and had three children - two daughters and a son. She now has four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Okawa's 90-year-old son, Hiroshi, said that though inherited some of his mothers' genes, he doubted he would manage to match his mother's longevity.
"On my father's side, there are some who lived long and some who don't - like my father who died at 36 - so I doubt I'll live as long," he said.

Teenagers Wreck Havoc:Get Arrested
Nineteen teenagers have been arrested following a disturbance that shut down a Chicago shopping mall and left two people with minor injuries.
Chicago police spokeswoman Laura Kubiak says the teens arrested Saturday were males and females ranging in age from 13 to 18.
Most are charged with misdemeanor mob action. A 16-year-old is charged with battery of a mall security guard who was trying to evacuate the mall.
Ford City Mall senior general manager John Sarama says the incident wasn't related to an appearance by the boy band Mindless Behavior, which ended about 45 minutes earlier.
Police say a large group of teens started causing chaos inside the mall. The disturbance continued in the parking lot, where some teens climbed on top of cars.

Shocking tweets from Denreles twitter handle suggest that him and his family have just been robbed this morning.However no one was shot,but Denrele clearly states that his grand mum was almost strangled. But we thank God no one was hurt.The robbers made off with various valuable items such as laptops,phones,watches a plasma TV and his grand mums' jewelry. Unfortunately the police wasn't at the scene on time despite various tweets by Denrele for people to alert the police.

PHOTOS:RAPPER FRENCH MONTANA SHOT??
Encore News was there as rapper French Montana left Philadelphia police headquarters to a waiting van after he spent hours talking to homicide detectives.
"I feel bad about what happened but nobody was shooting at me," he said.
The rapper, whose real name is Karim Kharbouch, denied the deadly shootout near his tour bus had anything to with him.
"I don't know, it was just fans. It was fans. Something happened outside my bus, but it didn't have nothing to do with me," he said.
The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Thursday outside the Holiday Inn Express on the 100 block of North Christopher Columbus Boulevard.
Police say several hundred fans had followed French Montana and his entourage to the hotel for an after party following his performance at the Theatre of the Living Arts on South Street.
"A large crowd of fans, as well as some of the entourage, were loitering and just hanging out on Christopher Columbus Boulevard when according to some of the witnesses a car drove by and opened fire," said Chief Inspector Scott Small.
A black four door sedan with tinted windows driving north on Columbus Boulevard approached the large crowd. Witnesses say the passenger window went down and shots were fired.
Two individuals in the crowd pulled guns and fired back at the vehicle as it fled the scene.
A second victim, a 28-year-old man, was driven by private vehicle to Jefferson University Hospital after being shot in the shoulder. He was treated and released.
Police found an abandoned silver colored car with gunshot holes near the hospital. They don't know if the wounded man drove himself there or if someone else drove him and then took off.
Police interviewed about 20 witnesses but released them Friday morning.
As for the two men who fired back at the car, police say they both had permits to carry and will not be charged.
Police say French Montana along with Philadelphia rapper Meek Mills were still on the tour bus when the shooting occurred.
At this point police say they need the public's help. They don't know who the intended target was, but they say this was a drive by shooting.
It was just last month when three people were killed and five injured in a shootout and crash on the Las Vegas strip. Investigators in that case believe the shootout may have originated with an altercation in the valet area of the Aria resort-casino the same night French Montana was playing at Aria's nightclub, Haze.
After being released from questioning French Montana and his entourage were free to go. Montana is scheduled to play Brighton Music Hall in Boston on Friday night as part of the tour promoting his upcoming album.Source ABC News

D’banj sacks his Manager Seun Bankuli
D’banj has reportedly parted ways with manager Seun Bankuli after reports that he was working on Kanye West’s album without his permission.
They got into a heated argument when D’Banj found out Bankuli went to Paris after the Koko concert to work on Kanye West’s next album without him knowing.
Bankuli left for Paris after the Koko concert in December and his employer/artiste wasn’t aware of his ‘clandestine’ trip to Paris to drop adlibs on Kanye’s next LP.
Bankuli also hooked up with G.O.O.D Music producer Travis Scott who was signed to Kanye West’s imprint last November. When D’Banj found out, an argument ensued which resulted in both parties going their separate ways.
Bankuli is also a vocalist and sound creator apart from being an A&R, artiste manager and developer. His vocals can be heard on ‘Lift Off’ featuring Beyonce off the ‘Watch The Throne’ album, and he was credited for his vocal contribution on the track co-produced by Don Jazzy.
He also got additional vocals credit on ‘Illest Mothafucka Alive’ featured on the same album.
Bankuli’s social media profiles- Twitter, Instagram and Facebook- no longer have any DB Records information. His avatar on Twitter now features a logo of Bankuli Entertainment, his newly floated entertainment outfit.

According to CreamBmp, Rihanna has teamed up with her lawyers and created a contractual agreement for her boyfriend Chris Brown stating that if he hits her again she will not only leave but take half of his money with her.

Nigerian Female Banker Steals Customer’s N26m
A staff of a mortgage bank in Lagos, southwest Nigeria, Folayemi Oluwayemisi Adedayo, 41, has been charged to court for illegally withdrawing N26 million from a customer’s account.
The banker was arrested by the police at Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos.
She was arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrate’s Court on an 18-count charge of felony to wit, forgery and stealing.
The police alleged in charge suit No. F/7/2013 that the accused was arrested following a complaint by a customer of the finance house, Reverend T.O. Mobolale that the accused forged his signature and withdrew N26.5m from his account, property of Light House International School, Ikorodu, Lagos.
He stated that the accused between 8 January and 15 August 2012 cleverly withdrew N1,525,000 twice, N1,550,000 twice N1,200,000, N1,650,000 thrice, among others, without his approval.
He further stated that she committed the offence at 54, Adetokunbo Ademola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The offence, said the police prosecutor, Inspector Marcus Okon, contravenes section 409, 285 (6) and 333 (2) (a) of the criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges, and the presiding magistrate, Mrs. Omotosho admitted her on bail in the sum of N500,000 with one surety in like sum who must show proof of tax payment to the Lagos State government.
She adjourned the matter till 25 March 2013 for mention. The defendant was moved to Kirikiri Prison pending when she would fulfil the bail condition.

A 70-year-old ex-service man identified as Anthony Hermon was yesterday discovered killed and set ablaze by his killer to hide the dastardly act in the Ewogho bush in Otuokpotu in Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa State.
Also confirmed dead in the last three days were two unidentified 32 years old man and an 18 years old girl who allegedly committed suicide along the Police Barrack in the women affairs ministry area and Azikoro town of the state capital, respectively.
LEADERSHIP gathered yesterday that security operatives attached to the state police command have launched a manhunt for the killer of the 70 years old ex-service man.
The suspected killer identified as one Didi Odudu, was alleged to have trailed the deceased to the farm located at Ewhogho bush and attacked him with a huge stick. The deceased was reported to have passed out and the suspected killer reportedly mutilated his body into small pieces.
According to some members of the community, the suspect later gathered pile of dry leaves and sticks to cover the mutilated body and set it on fire. The heavy smoke and smell of burning flesh attracted the attention of the indigenes of Otuokpotu community.
One of the villagers, Kelvin Oruoa, told LEADERSHIP that “the smell was offensive. Many youths and other elders organised a search party to know the source. We discovered the site and found the suspect with blood stains.”
It is suprising to find that in this day and age things like this happen everyday all around the world.

Governor of Delta state, Emmanuel Uduaghan and his wife, Roli renewed their marriage vows after 25 years of marriage on Wednesday, the 20th of February 2013 in Warri, Delta state. The couple exchanged wedding rings and cut their anniversary cake just as they did in 1988 at the same church – First Baptist Church, Warri. The ceremony was attended by their children, family, friends and well wishers and was followed by a reception afterwards.

Oscar Pistorius’ Brother also Accused!!
As South African athlete Oscar Pistorius faces murder charges for shooting his girlfriend dead, his elder brother Carl Pistorius also faces similar charges in the death of a woman. He allegedly killed a female motorcyclist while driving outside Johannesburg in 2010, the family attorney Kenny Oldwage told The Telegraph. His trial had been due to start last Thursday, a day before his famous brother, Oscar, was granted bail on a charge of murder over the Valentine’s Day killing of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. Carl’s trial was pushed back a month, but the specific date is not known.
Prosecutors say Carl was driving recklessly in Vanderbijlpark, South Africa, when he crashed with the motorcyclist in the daytime. But the family Lawyer Oldwage disputes allegations that his client was driving recklessly and said the motorcyclist rode into Carl Pistorius’ vehicle. The motorcyclist died in a hospital a couple of days later. According to a statement from the Pistorius family made available to CNN, Carl wasn’t under the influence of alcohol when the accident occurred. “
Carl deeply regrets the accident. Blood tests conducted by the police at the time proved that he had not been under the influence of alcohol, confirming that it was a tragic road accident after the deceased collided with Carl’s car.
The Police have also released evidence that Oscar crushed Reeva’s skull with a cricket bat before shooting her dead.

BOKO HARAM GOING INTERNATIONAL
Islamist rebels in Nigeria on Monday released video of a French family kidnapped in neighboring Cameroon last week, leading France to blast the scene as one of “cruelty without limits.” The seven-member family was flanked by armed fighters from the Boko Haram movement in the brief video. One of the captive men reads a statement demanding that Nigeria and Cameroon free jailed members of Boko Haram, which is battling to establish Islamic rule in northern Nigeria, and their families. ”Meet all the demands we have mentioned, and if you leave out one of them, we will kill these hostages,” the masked man says.
The family — a couple, their four children and an uncle — were seized in a national park in remote northern Cameroon on February 19. Authorities in Cameroon said they were quickly spirited across the border into Nigeria. French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius denounced the video, saying, “All of the state services are mobilized to free our countrymen.” ”For all of us, these images are terribly shocking. They demonstrate cruelty without limits,” Fabius said in a statement released Monday afternoon.
The kidnapping has raised fears of Westerners being targeted by Islamist militant groups in Africa in the wake of the French military intervention against other Islamist rebels in Mali. The masked man in the video says French President Francois Hollande “started war against Islam, and we must fight him everywhere.” ”He also should learn that we have spread everywhere to save our oppressed brothers,” the masked man adds.
The father works for the French company GDF Suez and is based in Yaounde, the capital in southern Cameroon. GDF Suez, which is developing a natural gas liquefaction project in Cameroon, said it was working closely with the French Foreign Ministry.

Janet Jackson has married her boyfriend Wissam Al Mana. The couple told Entertainment Tonight in a surprise statement;

FBI’s Most Wanted Nigerian Fraudster Tobechi Onwuhara Arrested
A Nigerian born sophisticated con artist, Tobechi Onwuhara, who fled Florida in August 2008 amid an intense FBI investigation, has been caught in Sydney, Australia and sent back to the U.S. to face a string of fraud charges. He was on the FBI’s most wanted list for several years for his alleged involvement in an elaborate scheme that defrauded the financial industry out of tens of millions of dollars. According to a report published by CNN in 2011 while he was on the run, he was a criminal genius:
In America he became one of the world’s most successful cyberscammers, a criminal genius who used his talents to filet a poorly regulated banking and credit system. In less than three years Onwuhara stole a confirmed $44 million, according to the FBI, which believes the total may be anywhere from $80 million to $100 million. All he needed was an Internet connection and a cellphone.
Onwuhara called it “washing.” He’d set up a boiler room in a fancy hotel (the Waldorf-Astoria was another favorite) to wash information on wealthy victims. Then he’d wash bank accounts. One group in his crew would do online research using databases and websites to harvest names, dates of birth, and mortgage information. They’d build profiles of victims for a second group, who would call banks posing as account holders. The callers cadged security information and passwords. Then Onwuhara would breach the accounts and wire funds from them to a network of money mules he had established in Asia. The money would be laundered and wired back to his accounts in the U.S. However, The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Onwuhara, 33, has been arrested “in response to a request from the United States Government”
The FBI’s website now lists Onwuhara as captured, but with scant detail of the arrest. They were offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to his arrest and conviction. He was described as “a key member of a group of Nigerians who allegedly have been conducting fraudulent banking activities from Florida and Texas, since 2005. It is alleged that the group has been using online Internet databases to steal victims’ identities. Once acquired, they allegedly use the victims’ information to gain access to the victims’ Home Equity Line of Credit accounts and wire transfer the money to accounts mainly located overseas, some in the United States.” The Sydney Morning Herald also reports that he owned a hip hop record label and he lived the high life of luxury hotels, gambling, strippers and bling.Well what this writer has to say is that we(Nigerians) have really gone far in terms of sophistication an advancement in the ICT field. We are heart broken as we announce the passing of Chief Justus Esiri OON popularly known as the “Village Headmaster”, following a complication from Diabetes.
Chief Justus Esiri OON, was a loving husband, father, grand father, brother, uncle and friend. An Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), The Otun Amuludun of the Source in Ile-Ife Osun State, and Veteran Nollywood Actor.
He died in the late hours of the 19th of February 2013. Chief Esiri, born on the 6th November 1942 hailed from Oria Abraka, Delta State. He was a strong believer in family values, and a great supporter of Nollywood.
While we mourn the loss of a great man we also celebrate his remarkable life and hope that it serves as an example to the youth to work hard to achieve their dreams, and play their own part in building a greater nation.

Pope Benedict XVI To Resign
Pope Benedict XVI will resign on February 28, the Vatican has announced.
“The pope announced that he will leave his ministry at 8:00pm (7pm UK time) on February 28,” said Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi.
The reason for the resignation, cited by the Pope himself, is “advanced age”.
“After having repeatedly examined my conscience before God, I have come to the certainty that my strengths, due to an advanced age, are no longer suited to an adequate exercise of the Petrine ministry,” wrote Pope Benedict XVI in a declaration to the public.

For this reason, and well aware of the seriousness of this act, with full freedom I declare that I renounce the ministry of Bishop of Rome, Successor of Saint Peter, entrusted to me by the Cardinals on 19 April 2005, in such a way, that as from 28 February 2013, at 20:00 hours, the See of Rome, the See of Saint Peter, will be vacant and a Conclave to elect the new Supreme Pontiff will have to be convoked by those whose competence it is.
